Filming in our studio — How it works
Filming in our studio comes with a variety of flexible, adaptable options. For example:
- Our production team can film and edit the video for you. It could be an eLearning video, corporate video, brand storytelling video or video podcast production. You’ll have our help with everything — from creating the concept through to scripting, filming, editing and post-production.
- Simply rent the studio space, bring your own kit and filming crew. Our team is on hand to offer advice and support. If you need additional tech or extra lighting, it’s available.
- Rent the studio, and we’ll help with storyboarding and scriptwriting, plus post-production services such as editing, animation and visual effects, colour grading, sound design and accessibility features.
- Or ask us for a blend of the above. We’re always happy to adapt.

Where is your studio?
Our studio is in Winchester, Hampshire. It’s easily accessible and, if you’re coming by car, there’s free parking.
Is there a lift?
Unfortunately not. This is a first-floor studio with access via a staircase.
How big is the studio?
It’s 64 square feet — 8 metres wide, 8.1 metres long. At its lowest point (under the rigging bar), the studio is 3.1 metres high. The width of the doorway is 85cm.
Which standard studio setups are available?
We offer 3 standard studio setups. They are:
- Green screen — Create any type of background in post-production. The screen is evenly lit to produce a high-quality end result.
- White infinity curve — Shooting against this creates a clean, seamless effect. Use it when you want to focus on your subject, rather than the surroundings.
- Blackout — Use blackout to set the scene for an interview or round table discussion. It’s also great for creating an atmosphere for an online event.
Is the studio soundproofed?
Yes, it’s fully soundproofed.
Does the studio have lighting equipment?
If you’re `dry hiring’ the studio, without using the Videofrog team, background lighting is included. We also offer a large choice of ready-to-go lighting for hire.
If the Videofrog team is filming for you, we take care of the background and subject lighting to make sure you look your best.
Is there a cyc wall?
Yes, there’s an infinity wall, or cyc wall. You can use it to make the background disappear and draw attention to the subject, without any distracting background elements.
Does the studio have a green screen?
Yes it does. After filming, with a green screen, you’ll be able to add any background you like. Importantly, our green screen is evenly lit so you’ll get a high-quality, professional result.
How much electrical power is there?
There are numerous 13A sockets around the studio. On the lighting grid, there are sixteen 13A sockets and four 16A sockets available.
Will we need to bring our own equipment, or is it provided?
If Videofrog is filming for you, there’s no need to bring any equipment.
If you’re ‘dry hiring’ the studio, only background lighting is provided. For more information, visit Videofrog Studios.
Do you offer editing services?
Yes. Videofrog is a full-service video production company. We can handle filming, editing and the entire range of post-production services. Editing starts from £450 (excluding VAT).
